こどもの日--Children's day
5th of May is Children's day in Japanese calender. It's actually a holiday celebrating boys long times ago, but changed to celebrating for all children.
鯉のぼり koinobori (colorful carp streamers)
In Japan, 鯉 Carp represents strength...it's a strong, spirited fish. The colorful carp streamers are flown outside of houses...to bring good fortune to the boys and to wish them luck for the future.
